It’s important to know about two key occupation lists called the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List. Occupations on the MLTSSL are very much needed in Australia and have more visa options available to them, including ways to become a permanent resident. Occupations on this list can be sponsored by employers and can lead to permanent residency through various visa types.

On the other hand, the STSOL includes occupations that have fewer visa options and usually need an employer or state to sponsor the applicant.
