Portia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in April 2015, driven by her interest in human behavior and its applications in Human Resources. She enhanced her qualifications by passing the Psychometrician Board Exam in July 2015. Currently, she is advancing her education by pursuing a Master’s in Psychology, reflecting her commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
Portia's professional journey in HR began immediately after her graduation in 2015. She initially worked as a recruitment assistant, then as a training assistant at a local company for 2.5 years. After a brief stint in the Government sector and a six-month career break, she joined TOA Global as a Learning Management Systems (LMS) Administrator and Training Coordinator. In 2018, she moved to another Australian company to help build their training department and manage their LMS. Later, as a Transitions Officer, she gained valuable experience in client interactions and establishing offshore teams. Seeking alignment with her personal goals, Portia recently transitioned to Maison Chen as a Legal Assistant.
Portia enjoys dedicating Saturdays to house cleaning, which she finds therapeutic and helpful in clearing her mind for the week ahead. Her weekends are spent indulging in spontaneous road trips, dining out, playing games, and watching TV series with her fiancé. Recently, she has also developed a passion for gardening, nurturing her green thumb with great enthusiasm.
Portia is motivated by the belief that everyone has inherent potential that can be realised in unique ways. She is committed to influencing others positively, helping them become better versions of themselves. She values the learning opportunities each new experience brings and strives to empower those around her to overcome challenges and realise their worth.
