Educational Background

Imma pursued her higher education at Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from 2014 to 2018, graduating Cum Laude. Initially motivated by her father’s involvement in a labor union, she aspired to become a lawyer advocating for labor rights.However, her career trajectory shifted towards education after a professor inspired her passion for teaching. She continued her studies at the same university, completing a Master of Public Administration with a major in Organisation and Management from 2018 to 2021. This advanced degree enhanced her capabilities in public administration and organisational management.

Professional Experience

Imma's teaching career began in 2018 at the University of Technology of Southern Philippines, where she served as a faculty member for Senior High School, focusing on research and advisory roles. In 2019, she joined Oro Christian Grace School as a faculty member, teaching Social Studies to Junior High and Elementary students and advising the student council. In 2021, Imma became an Assistant Professor at Capitol University, teaching various Social Science-related courses and serving as the Extension Officer for the College of Arts and Sciences, where she organised community extension seminars and workshops.

Hobbies

Imma developed a passion for cooking during the pandemic, a hobby she now enjoys with her family. She also loves watching medical or law-related American or Asian TV series in her free time. Beyond her personal interests, Imma is active in a Women's ministry at her church, contributing positively to the lives of women from diverse backgrounds.

Languages Spoken

Imma is trilingual, fluent in Bisaya, Tagalog, and English. Bisaya is her native dialect, widely spoken in the Philippines.

Motivation

Imma's work ethic is driven by the philosophy that opportunities to make a positive impact are precious and fleeting. She believes it is her responsibility to use her time wisely to effect change and better the lives of others. Imma views her role not just as a teacher but as a change-maker, dedicated to using her skills to empower and uplift individuals, ensuring they have the opportunities for a better future.
