Annie’s academic journey spans multiple countries and disciplines, reflecting her diverse expertise and global perspective. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney (2021), a Master of Business from the University of Sheffield in England (2013), a Master of Teaching from Muskingum University in the USA (2012), and a Bachelor of Law – International Law from Northwest University of Politics and Law in China (2011). Her studies have given her a strong foundation in law, business, and education, which she applies to her legal practice today.
Annie’s legal career began in 2020 as a paralegal in migration law, driven by her passion for helping individuals and businesses navigate the complexities of the Australian immigration system. As an expat herself, she deeply understands the challenges of migration, which fuels her commitment to providing clear and strategic legal advice.
After being admitted as a lawyer in New South Wales in 2022, she expanded her expertise into financial services law, advising businesses on compliance, licensing, and risk management. While this experience strengthened her analytical skills, her passion for migration law led her back to the field, focusing on corporate migration and global mobility.
She has developed specialised expertise in employer-sponsored visas, cross-border talent mobility, and sponsorship compliance, particularly in the hospitality industry. Her role includes assisting businesses with the recruitment and retention of overseas talent and managing sponsorship compliance during mergers and acquisitions. With her detail-oriented and strategic approach, she has successfully handled employer-sponsored visas, National Innovation Visas, and complex migration cases involving character and Schedule 3 issues.
Outside of work, Annie is a self-proclaimed foodie, always on the hunt for hidden gems in Sydney or experimenting with new recipes at home. She loves pub hopping with friends, as she believes good food and good company make for the best memories.
She also enjoys gaming, whether exploring virtual worlds, solving puzzles, or engaging in friendly competition. Gaming is her way of unwinding and escaping the everyday routine.
