Adrian is a recent Law graduate, having completed his degree at Central Queensland University in 2023. His journey back into the legal field was reignited by his volunteer work at the Welfare Rights Centre during and after the Robodebt scheme. Witnessing the profound impact this scheme had on everyday people, and the dedication of his colleagues to assist those in need, inspired him to return to his studies and complete his legal education. A significant milestone in his life was attending the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme, where he and his team successfully conveyed the scheme's detrimental effects on their clients.
Adrian has spent much of his adult life working closely with young families, particularly in his role as manager of an academic coaching college in a lower socio-economic area. This experience has provided him with deep insights in to the educational challenges faced by children from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, Adrian works as a children’s contact supervisor, where he gains a firsthand understanding of the stressful nature of family separations and their impact on children. His personal experiences as a child who went through similar circumstances give him a unique perspective and empathy in his work. One of his most memorable achievements was helping a separated parent reconnect with their child.
In his spare time, Adrian is passionate about Speed Skating and regularly visits the ice rink to pursue this interest. This hobby not only keeps him physically active but also provides a refreshing break from his professional responsibilities.
Adrian is fluent in both Korean and English, reflecting his cultural heritage and his ability to connect with a diverse range of clients.
Adrian's ethos is deeply rooted in the belief that helping others is essential to thriving in today’s society. Growing up as a second-generation Korean Australian, he has seen firsthand the many obstacles that young families, especially those from migrant backgrounds, face in Australia. This drives his passionate commitment to lending a hand to those in need, ensuring that everyone has the support they need to overcome challenges and succeed.
